Loads of websites are now boasting ‘try-on’ technology. The Tie Bar’s ‘matching tie’ feature, which allows men to try on ties with the shirts in their closet, is pretty brilliant, and it’s easy to kill a couple of hours trying on celebrity hairstyles at DailyMakeover.
But Ray-Ban has just debuted the coolest, most seamless feature I’ve seen so far. Download the ‘Virtual Mirror’ program and use your web-cam to try on different styles of sunglasses in real time. It’s pretty addictive. (As you move your face, the frames even hover in place.)
I’m trying to decide between a pair of classic Aviators and yet another pair of Wayfarers -- in rose. By the way, the Ray-Ban retail site is new, too, and it’s great to have all the colors and sizes in one easy-to-browse place.
