Dashon Hunt, a junior at Westlake Village Westlake, made his decision, so there was no reason to wait.
Hunt, already considered a top high school cornerback, said he will attend UCLA, giving the Bruins their first commitment for the Class of 2013.
“I sat on their offer a long time; they committed to me about a month after my sophomore season,” Hunt said. “I did some research, went through their depth chart and talked with my family and coaches. I decided that this was the best time.”
Hunt had seven interceptions as a sophomore. He was attracted to UCLA for a variety of reasons.
“It’s just a phenomenal fit,” Hunt said. “It’s close to home, so my family can come see me play. I’m used to the weather. They have a great program, athletically and academically. That sold me right there.”
