Girls’ basketball: Locals contribute to FIBA Americas under-16 title

Mater Dei’s Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis, Alexyz Vaioletama and Jordan Adams and Brea Olinda’s Justine Hartman were part of the USA Women’s under-16 national team that won a gold medal Friday night in Mexico City at the FIBA Americas under-16 championship.

The players will team up again in January as their respective high schools co-host a memorial basketball tournament in honor of Tony Matson, the Orange Lutheran coach who died in April at age 44.
