Between Chatsworth and Granada Hills Kennedy, the two schools have won 16 City Section baseball championships, which makes Wednesday night’s game at USC so intriguing.

And the Golden Cougars have come out with hot bats. Sophomore Chris Mallon and senior Robert Gonzalez each had RBI doubles in the first inning to give Kennedy a 2-0 lead over Chatsworth.

The Chancellors had an error dropping the ball on a pick-off play and also a wild pitch.

UPDATE: Through six innings, Kennedy leads Chatsworth, 3-0. Ryan Cruz has allowed two hits for Kennedy.
