Mater Dei junior catcher Amber Freeman hit an over-the-fence home run on Tuesday at Santa Ana Thornton Park, which has a distance of approximately 250 to 300 feet.
College regulation fences have a distance of about 220 feet.
Mater Dei coach Doug Myers said in his 12 years of coaching, no one has ever hit an over-the-fence homer at Thornton Park.
Freeman is hitting .565 and has five home runs. She committed to Arizona State as a freshman, but sat out last season with a knee injury.
Mater Dei (7-1) will host Esperanza (2-2) on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
