Baseball: Ex-ECR standout Ryan Lavarnway is new Red Sox hero

The slumping Boston Red Sox received a boost Tuesday night from former Woodland Hills El Camino Real All-City player Ryan Lavarnway, a 24-year-old rookie catcher.

He hit his first two home runs of his major-league career and had four RBIs as the Red Sox held off the Baltimore Orioles, 8-7.
