Track: Two records fall in 4 x 100 relay

The Gardena Serra girls’ 4 x 100 relay team and the Rio Mesa boys’ relay team each set division records on Saturday to start the Southern Section track and field championships at Mount San Antonio College.
Serra set a Division 4 record in 45.80. Rio Mesa set a Division 3 record in 41.05, fastest in the state this year.
Oaks Christian won its Division 4 race in 41.35, with Vinnie Saucer on the anchor leg. Loyola won the Division 2 race. Long Beach Poly took the Division 1 race.
Harvard-Westlake’s Cami Chapus and Amy Weissenbach finished one-two in the Division 3 girls’ 800. Chapus won in 4:48.77.
Hart’s Tim White took the Division 3 high jump at 6-7. Rio Mesa’s Blake Selig won the Division 3 long jump at 22-3 3/4. Gardena Serra’s Adoree Jackson won the Division 4 long jump at 23-7 1/2.
