Baseball: Alan Exton, former Arcadia coach, has died

Former Arcadia baseball Coach Alan ‘Lani’ Exton died Sunday at Citrus Valley Medical Center. He was 76.
He graduated from Arcadia and UCLA, playing baseball at both schools. He also coached baseball at Arcadia from 1964-1973, leading the Apaches to a Southern Section 3A championship in 1965. He was inducted into the Arcadia High School Coaches Hall of Fame in 2003.
He was later the head baseball coach at Pasadena City College.
A memorial service is scheduled for May 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Loraine Avenue Baptist Church (151 S. Loraine Avenue, Glendora).
