Man Shot and Killed by Police

An unidentified man being questioned about a murder was shot and killed by police in Venice this morning after he allegedly hit an officer during a scuffle and tried to run away, detectives said.
Police said the unidentified officer, apparently thinking the man was armed, fired at least one shot at the fleeing man after a two-block chase at about 7:20 a.m. Officers, meanwhile, were searching the area for a second man for questioning about a murder in Venice that occurred Tuesday.
