A man who ran an abortion clinic that was bombed six years ago and owns two others in the Northeast said that a group of clinics has hired private detectives to help defend the facilities and that some of the clinics have obtained guns and posted armed guards. Meanwhile, in Pensacola, Fla., Matthew J. Goldsby, 21; his fiancee, Kaye Wiggins, 18; James Simmons, 21; and Simmons’ wife, Kathren, 18--all charged in connection with the bombing of three abortion clinics--prepared a petition for the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta asking that an order prohibiting them from making public statements be overturned.
