A 1.36-acre site at 5035-5049 Guava Ave., La Mesa, has been purchased from the tax assesor for $600,000 as a first joint venture of T.L. Sheldon Corp. and M.S.Browar Development for a project to be named Guava Gardens.
The partners will build 81 affordable apartments to be rented only to senior citizens, and 20% of the project will be rented to low income seniors at lower than market rents. The project was designed by Alvardo Design & Associates, La Mesa, and will be built by Comfort Construction, also of that area, beginning next March.
