Huntington Beach : Schools Taking Advice on Hiring Superintendent
- Share via
The Huntington Beach Union High School District is accepting comments and suggestions on selection of a new superintendent for the 17,000-student district.
The district’s consultant in the selection process, Hilton Bell, will be available today and Thursday at the district’s Education Center at 10251 Yorktown Ave. to meet with interested individuals and group representatives, said district spokesperson Lyn Henderson.
The district serves Edison, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Marina, Ocean View and Westminster high schools.
Marie Otto, assistant superintendent for the district’s special education consortium, has served as acting district superintendent since the resignation last August of former Supt. Frank J. Abbott, who left to accept a position with a district in Northern California.
Those interested in meeting with Bell regarding Abbott’s replacement should call Carole Thomas at 964-3330, Extension 209, for an appointment.
