Santa Ana police are investigating the suspicious death of a 29-year-old transient whose body was found Sunday in an abandoned building, authorities said.
The body was discovered shortly after 7:30 a.m. in a building in the 1300 block of West 5th Street, police said. The name of the deceased, whose last known address was in Tustin, was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
An autopsy was scheduled today to determine the cause of death, a spokesman for the sheriff-coroner’s office said Sunday. In the meantime, police said, the death is being investigated as a possible homicide.
