The City Council on Tuesday approved one-year extensions for the completion of public works improvements on two tracts in the Park del Amo residential-commercial project.
The improvements, which were to be completed by last Aug. 23 are now due on Aug. 23, 1986.
A flood control drainage sump and storm drain lines have been installed in the tract at Sepulveda Boulevard and Maple Avenue, but a permanent pumping facility has not been completed.
The developer, Torrance Investment Co., will install and operate temporary equipment to pump water into existing city storm drains or into the adjacent Madrona Marsh wetlands if needed.
In addition, the developer will deposit $10,000 as a bond for the city to use if the company fails to install or operate the temporary pump during the extension period.
In the second tract, at Madrona Avenue and Monterey Street, the developer was to complete the extension of Toledo Street between Madrona and Maple avenues. However, the city only approved the final alignment of Toledo Street in late July.
Park del Amo will have 1,480 residential units and 850,000 square feet of office space when completed in 1990.
