Community College Volleyball Roundup : Golden West Volleyball Team Clinches Tie for South Coast Conference Title

The Golden West College women’s volleyball team clinched at least a tie for the South Coast Conference championship Friday night by defeating Cerritos, 15-11, 10-15, 15-8, 15-9 at Golden West.

Freshman outside hitter Kathy Wissman had 18 kills to lead the Rustlers, who improved their conference record to 11-1. Cerritos is 6-3.

In other South Coast Conference action:

Orange Coast 3, Saddleback 1--The host Pirates won their sixth straight match by defeating the Gauchos, 7-15, 15-10, 15-12, 15-4.

Ann Javage had six kills and Barbara Bally added four to lead Orange Coast, which improved its conference record to 8-3. Saddleback is 7-5.

Rancho Santiago 3, Mt. San Antonio 2--Amme Oberschlake had eight kills to lead the host Dons past the Mounties, 15-7, 15-13, 4-15, 5-15, 15-5. Gina Meyers had five aces to lead Rancho Santiago (5-5, 5-6).
