Answering a call from a woman who said she had been beaten, police arrested the woman’s husband and a neighbor and confiscated a pipe bomb and several handguns and rifles.
Steven B. Corsa, 34, and Christopher L. Davis, 36, were arrested on suspicion of having a destructive device, police said Thursday. Corsa was also booked on suspicion of felony assault.
Police Sgt. Roger White said that when officers arrived at Corsa’s home at about 7 p.m. Wednesday, his wife told them about the weapons in the home.
The county Sheriff’s Department bomb disposal unit was called in and confiscated the pipe bomb. Although the guns are not illegal, White said, state law allows police to take weapons for 24 to 48 hours in possible cases of domestic violence.
