Afire early Wednesday caused $250,000 damage to a Sepulveda company that manufactures plastic foam products, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said. There were no injuries.
Twelve fire companies responded to a call at 1:30 a.m. at The Foam Co., 15105 Raymer St., Fire Department spokesman Jim Williamson said. Although they were at first hampered by fallen power lines that electrified a chain-link fence, firefighters extinguished the blaze by 2:20 a.m., Williamson said.
The 7,500-square-foot structure was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, he said, but three tractor-trailers at a freight dock escaped damage.
Cause of the fire was under investigation.
