Santa Ana : Escapee Gets Maximum Sentence for Robberies
- Share via
A one-time jail escapee convicted of 10 Orange County supermarket robberies was sentenced Friday in Santa Ana to 31 years and eight months in state prison, the maximum allowed under state law.
Superior Court Judge William Thomson said he realized that Terry Huston, 36, had not injured anyone, but that every armed robbery increases the chance that someone might be hurt.
Huston claimed during his trial last summer that his brother, who closely resembles him, committed the robberies.
According to police, Huston engaged supermarket managers in conversation while near their offices or safes and then showed them a gun.
