A former Los Angeles City Housing Authority police officer was sentenced to three years’ probation and six months in the county jail for robbing a Pasadena gas station of $200. Leander Charles Moore Jr., 45, was convicted of robbery by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Alexander Williams III after it was shown in a non-jury trial that the officer showed his police badge and claimed to be on emergency police business to gain access to the cashier’s office of the filling station. He faced a maximum sentence of five years.
