Jerry’s main point about the trend toward unbridled greed among some B&B; owners is well taken. I am forever advising hosts to keep their rates as low as they possibly can, and in a recent newsletter to hosts in my book I stated that a comfortable bed and a good cup of coffee are the rock-bottom minimum of what every guest is entitled to. I recently set a $60 limit for new listings; where they are higher, I ask that a discount be offered to readers of my book. Thank you for saying things that really needed to be said.
