LONGEVITY

I enjoy and frequently agree with Martin Bernheimer. However, I find his approach in parts of “What Little Ears You Have, Grammy” (March 9) too condescending and probably wrong.
To call Respighi’s works “infernal” is meaningless and inappropriate. More important, it is just possible that Art Tatum and Ella Fitzgerald, giants of American jazz, will be remembered, played and revered 100 hundred years from now while some of Bernheimer’s heroes might not.
A more liberal eclectic might become our music critic!
