Pt. Loma Nazarene Wins Title

Defending champion Point Loma Nazarene College dominated from the start of Saturday’s National Christian College Athletic Assn. men’s baskeball championship, as it downed Western Baptist College, 74-64, at Chattanooga, Tenn.
Point Loma senior center Deon Richard, who had 31 points Saturday, was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row.
The Warriors, from Salem, Ore., did not come within six points of the Crusaders.
Steve Bruce added 14 points for the Crusaders, who finish the season with a 27-7 record. Gary Williams and Larry Wilson led the Warriors with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
