Group Claims Paris Bombing

BEIRUT — An underground group today claimed responsibility for the bombing Thursday that killed two people and wounded 28 others in a Paris shopping arcade. It demanded the release of five Arab prisoners held in France and Italy.
The group, the Committee of Solidarity with Arab Political Prisoners and the Middle East, threatened to stage more bombings unless the prisoners are freed. The same leftist group claimed responsibility for four other bombings in France in which 30 people were injured. The statement on Thursday’s bombing came in an Arabic language message that was passed to a Western news agency in Beirut.
