UCLA track star Gail Devers set a school record in the triple jump last week with a leap of 43-8, also the longest jump by a collegian this season, in an all-comers meet at Santa Monica College.

Devers, a sophomore, also ran a wind-aided 23.4 in the 200 meters, and freshman teammate Choo-Choo Knighten turned in a 13.73w in the 100.
