College Tennis : UC Irvine Loses to UC Santa Barbara, 5-4

UC Irvine’s Haruko Shigegakua battled off five match points in the second set to defeat Lori Jones, 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 but the Anteaters lost to UC Santa Barbara, 5-4, in women’s tennis action Friday afternoon at Santa Barbara.

UCI (10-11) split the singles matches and won the first doubles match to lead 4-3 but lost both the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches. Lola Trenwith and Uma Rao also won singles matches.
