Air Force Secretary Appointed

WASHINGTON — President Reagan today named Edward C. Aldridge Jr. as secretary of the Air Force, replacing Russell A. Rourke, who resigned.
Aldridge, 47, a former executive with Douglas Aircraft Co. and LTV Aerospace Corp., had been undersecretary since 1981 and had previously served in the Office of Management and Budget Defense Department dating back to 1967. Rourke submitted his resignation for “personal reasons” today after only four months in office.
