Study to Determine Parking Meter Fees

A Los Angeles accounting firm has been chosen to study how much Culver City should charge in the 3,600 new parking meters it plans to install throughout the city.
The transportation and real estate consulting group of Peat, Marwick Mitchell & Co. will conduct the survey with $9,200 appropriated by the City Council on Tuesday.
The meters will be placed in commercial and industrial sections of town, according to a city staff report.
The meters, approved by the council March 24, will be installed over the next year and will cost the city more than $1 million, the report stated. The city hopes to realize more than $1 million in additional revenue annually once the project is completed. Two additional parking enforcement officers will be hired.
