UCLA Track Teams to Face TCU and Houston Today

The UCLA men’s and women’s track teams will play host to Texas Christian and Houston today in a double dual meet at Drake Stadium. The women’s meet will start at 11:30 a.m., the men’s at 1 p.m.
TCU is loaded with quality sprinters--Andree Smith, Raymond Stewart, Greg Scholars, Leroy Reid and Michael Cannon.
Houston, coached by former UCLA assistant Tom Tellez, has some outstanding field-event performers, including long jumper LeRoy Burrell, NCAA indoor triple jump champion Frank Rutherford, high jumpers Mark Reed and Marshall Broadway, and javelin thrower Bob Erskine.
The UCLA men’s team has a 7-0 record this season and has won 18 consecutive dual meets dating back to 1984.
In other track activity, USC, unbeaten in six dual meets, will compete today in the Jenner invitational at San Jose.
