U.S. Retaliatory Raid on Libya

Yes, Moammar Kadafi is a “mad dog,” as the President says. And if Reagan were anything other than the dangerous fool that he is, then he would know that the adage “Let sleeping dogs lie,” applies especially to “mad dogs.”
The Middle East is, after all, a place where scores are still being “settled” for feuds that are thousands of years old. In this kind of environment, where compromise is virtually unknown, and revenge a way of life, it seems obvious that gunboat diplomacy only engenders a need for more gunboat diplomacy, until lo and behold, a war.
Apparently Reagan is not content with the dirty dealings in Nicaragua, and feels compelled to provoke troubles in Libya also. But as a 24-year-old male, who is by law required to be registered with Selective Service, let me say that if the mad dog and the fool wish to go to war they will have neither my approval, nor my body to be used as cannon fodder.
