Valhalla Beats Santana, Takes Lead in San Diego Baseball Poll

SAN DIEGO — Valhalla’s 10-1 victory over Santana last Tuesday has helped propel the Norsemen to the top of The Times prep baseball poll. Valhalla, No. 2 last week, improved its record to 12-3-1 last week and took over first place in the Grossmont League by beating Santana, ranked No. 2.
Two Palomar League teams, Mt. Carmel and Fallbrook, are ranked No. 3 and No. 4.
There are two new teams in the top 10. San Marcos, tied for first place in the Avocado League, is No. 8 and Patrick Henry, last year’s section 3-A runner-up, is No. 10.
