Carrier Steams to Mediterranean

WASHINGTON — The United States has ordered the nuclear-powered carrier Enterprise from its duty station in the Indian Ocean through the Suez Canal, Pentagon sources said today.
The Enterprise was said to be steaming through the southern entrance of the canal under cover of darkness. The sources stressed that no orders had been issued to form a three-carrier battle group in preparation for any strike against Libya.
