Mother Saves One Child, Dies in Fire With 3 Others

CENTREVILLE, Ill. — A mother rescued one of her four children from a fire at their apartment Tuesday, but rushed back inside to save the three others and died with them, authorities said. Preliminary reports indicate the blaze was started by careless smoking. The state fire marshal’s office was called in to investigate.
