Irwin A. Moon Dies; Made Religious Films

Irwin A. Moon, who as a young evangelist developed a filmed series called “Sermons From Science” and later founded the Moody Institute of Science in Whittier under the auspices of the Chicago-based Moody Bible Institute in 1945, has died following a stroke.
Moon was 78 and died May 7.
His first scientifically oriented religious film was “God of Creation,” which is still being shown around the world. Many of his productions have been seen at World’s Fairs and at the 1972 and 1976 Olympic Games. Today, his work is being heard and seen in 27 languages in 132 countries.
