Azusa : Housing Curbs Proposed
The City Council will consider a proposal Aug. 18 to require builders to obtain special approval from the council before constructing apartments or condominiums. City Administrator Lloyd Wood said the proposal would declare a moratorium on building permits for all high-density housing projects, but allow builders to submit plans to the council for approval on a case-by-case basis.
Wood said council members suggested the moratorium because Azusa is getting “too many apartments and condos,” and council members would prefer that projects be fewer in number and higher in quality.
