Four people, including a Southern California woman and her two children, were killed near Oroville when a speeding car went out of control, hit an oak tree and split in half. The California Highway Patrol said the dead included a 16-year-old Oroville boy, who was driving the car on winding Mount Ida Road. The others were identified as Denise Smith, 29, of Fontana, and her two children, Roger, 8, and Robert, 3.
