Quarterback Chris Chandler leads the Washington Huskies against Alabama today in the Sun Bowl at El Paso, Tex.
Chandler led the Huskies to an 8-2-1 record this season, completing 160 of 275 passes for 1,994 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also scored 4 touchdowns.
Alabama is led by running back Bobby Humphrey, who rushed for 1,471 yards and scored 104 points, second best in the nation. The Tide’s defense is led by linebacker Cornelius Bennett, winner of the Lombardi Award.
Alabama quarterback Mike Shula, son of Miami Dolphin Coach Don Shula, threw for 1,486 yards and 13 touchdowns this season.
