In your editorial of Dec. 19 you urge the Sandinistas to increase the good will engendered by the release of Eugene Hasenfus by turning over another U.S. citizen they have in custody, Sam Hall. You state that he “is by all accounts an emotionally troubled man who was trying to live out a fantasy by ‘spying’ for his country.”
My question: How can you be sure that a man with these qualifications is not the duly appointed successor to Ollie North?
