UC Irvine Opens Anteater Tournament Against Eastern Washington at Long Beach

UC Irvine will play Eastern Washington tonight at 6 in the first round of the Anteater Tournament in the Long Beach Arena.
The Anteaters (4-3) haven’t played since Dec. 20, when they defeated Pepperdine, 103-91, in their final game in Crawford Hall. Irvine will play its first game in the new Bren Center on Jan. 8 against Utah State.
Eastern Washington (1-8), a Division I independent, has lost seven straight games.
No. 3 Iowa will play Portland at 8 in the other opening-round game.
