A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was critically injured in Fullerton when their cycle crashed into a turning truck, police reported. The accident occurred at just after 3 p.m. on Lemon Street at the westbound on-ramp of the Riverside Freeway, officers said. The motorcyclist, Oscar Orona, 23, of Brea, was northbound on Lemon Street “at a high rate of speed,” police said. Orona’s passenger was identified as Jaime Orona Sanchez, 19, whose address had not yet been ascertained, police said. Officers said Orona’s motorcycle struck the tractor-trailer that was turning onto the westbound freeway on-ramp. Orona was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sanchez was airlifted by helicopter to UCI Medical Center in critical condition with fractures and head injuries, police said. The truck driver was not injured, police said, and no charges were filed.
