NEW YORK — Former Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. executive Antonio Gebauer was sentenced today to 3 1/2 years in prison for misappropriating $4.35 million from accounts of wealthy Brazilian clients.
Calling him a “fallen angel of the banking community,” U.S. Judge Robert Sweet sentenced Gebauer, 46, on one count of bank fraud in U.S. District Court in Manhattan and fined him $100,000 in addition to the jail sentence, which he is to begin serving in March.
