Scan-Tron Corp. said it has reached a preliminary agreement under which American Hospital Supply will distribute its Hospital Menu Tally System. Using the system, hospitals can electronically scan patient food selections, enabling food-service workers to accurately plan menus.
John T. Saunders, president of the Tustin-based company, said Scan-Tron presently has no estimate of how much in new revenues the agreement will bring. However, the menu tally system currently accounts for about $250,000 a year in revenues and the sales increase should be “fairly significant” under the new distribution agreement, he said.
