Antonio Gebauer, 46, was ordered to serve 3 1/2 years in prison, fined $100,000, ordered to pay $7 million in unpaid taxes and instructed to make full restitution to Morgan Guaranty for defrauding it while he was a senior vice president there. A federal court judge in New York called Gebauer “a Lucifer, a fallen angel of the banking world” for making unauthorized withdrawals from Morgan client accounts and using the money to keep and decorate expensive homes in New York and Paris, pay $1,000 a week in alimony and send his child to private school. Gebauer has admitted stealing $8 million over 10 years but pleaded guilty only to taking $4.3 million. He will begin serving his sentence March 2.
