CALENDAR LETTERS : MISSING ‘DOWNTOWN’

Saturday night without the CBS cop show “Downtown” isn’t any fun. The cast of “characters” (that’s exactly what they were) used their talents to create some unusual situations. The series was different, and a welcome departure from the “sameness” of the television programs we’re given all week long. The show’s cancellation means we have nothing to look forward to--again. What a shame.
