The state Board of Education, acting in Long Beach, tentatively adopted a new sex education policy today and appointed a subcommittee to review the more controversial aspects of the program, particularly on homosexuality.

That and the proposed teaching about how AIDS is transmitted are among the most thorny aspects of the program that will be studied before final adoption by the board.
