Henry J. Heinz Dies at 78

PITTSBURGH — Henry J. Heinz II, chairman of the H. J. Heinz Co. food empire and father of Sen. John Heinz (R-Pa.), died today following a short illness, a company spokesman said. He was 78.
Heinz, the grandson of the company’s founder, died at his winter home at Hobe Sound, Fla. He had been chairman of the company since 1959.
