American Airlines plans a Caribbean expansion.

Chairman Robert L. Crandall, announcing plans for the “major” expansion in the Caribbean, said European flights also will be expanded once 40 new long-range, wide-body jets are delivered. The airline said it has ordered 15 Boeing 767-300ERs and 25 Airbus Industrie A300-600Rs.
