Detectives are investigating the slaying of a 42-year-old North Hollywood bartender whose body was discovered Wednesday in his apartment by a neighbor, Los Angeles police said Thursday.
Charles Nover’s employer in Hollywood became concerned when Nover failed to appear for work Wednesday. The employer called the neighbor, Stanley Crane, 53, and asked him to check Nover’s apartment in the 11600 block of Chandler Boulevard, Detective Howard Landgren said.
Crane found Nover dead on the bathroom floor, the detective said.
The apartment’s front door appeared to have been forced open, said Landgren, who would not disclose how Nover was killed. An autopsy is pending, he said.
Landgren said detectives had no known motive or suspect in the killing.
