Bank Robber Makes a Getaway on Girl’s Bike

About $8,000 was taken Wednesday in a Palmdale bank robbery in which the thief rode off on a girl’s bicycle, authorities said.
The robber entered Valley Federal Savings & Loan Assn., 2205 E. Palmdale Blvd., brandished a handgun and handed a teller a note saying that he “would kill her,” Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said. Officers found the bicycle abandoned about a mile from the bank.
