WATCHING JAMES WOODS

Patrick Goldstein credits James Harris with writing the script for the movie “Blood on the Moon,” starring James Woods. Woods is quoted as saying the movie allows him “to do more than just read paperbacks all day.”
No mention is made of the fact that “Blood on the Moon” was originally a paperback written by James Ellroy, the first of a quintet about 6-foot-4, 230-pound muscleman, genius detective Lloyd Hopkins. It makes the wiry-thin Woods’ statement, “The script was essentially written about me,” sound rather fatuous.
