Del Olmo’s column was right on target. The whole matter reeks of racism. Two fully qualified minority candidates are dismissed for an Anglo outsider. What a slap in the face to all minority groups.
So Britton has headed a somewhat similar school district. What similarities are there between Marieletos from Cuba and our immigrant groups? Did the board go with an Anglo in order not to offend either minority group? What naiveness!
The choice has offended all and created such bad feelings that it will take a long, long time to subside them.
